What We Do

The Piatt County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is responsible for coordinating emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts throughout Piatt County. EMA works closely with local fire departments, law enforcement, EMS agencies, public health officials, public works, schools, and state and federal partners to protect the lives and property of our residents.

EMA helps the County prepare for disasters such as severe weather, hazardous materials incidents, floods, public health emergencies, and other large-scale incidents. Our goal is to ensure that Piatt County is prepared before emergencies occur and that our community can recover quickly when disasters happen.

EMA also coordinates planning, training, and exercises with local agencies to strengthen our county’s ability to respond to emergencies.

Vision Statement

Building a resilient Piatt County where communities, businesses, and emergency services work together to prepare for and effectively respond to emergencies and disasters.

Mission Statement

To protect the lives, property, and well-being of Piatt County residents through coordinated preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.
